Tata Nexon EV Dark & Nexon Dark Launched

Tata Motors has reduced the prices of the Nexon EV and the Tiago EV by up to Rs 1.2 lakh. The company said that the battery cell prices have softened in the recent past and considering their potential reduction in the near future, we have passed on the benefits directly to the customers. The starting price of the Tiago EV and the Nexon EV have been reduced by Rs 70,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively.
Tata Nexon EV, Tiago EV Price Reduction
The Tata Nexon EV entry-level Medium Range (MR) variant is now priced at Rs 14.49 lakh, a significant down of Rs 25,000. On the other hand, the Long Range (LR) variant receives a massive price reduction of Rs 1.20 lakh and is now priced at Rs 16.99 lakh. The Tata Tiago EV base variant is now priced at Rs 7.99 lakh, receiving a price cut of Rs 70,000.
Tata Motors has not released the entire price range of the Nexon EV and the Tiago EV. We will update the story with detailed prices once Tata releases the variant-wise prices of both the models. The prices of the Punch EV remain the same as they already factor in reduction in battery price in the foreseeable future.
Speaking about the price reduction, Mr. Vivek Srivtsa, Chief Commercial Officer, TPEM, said, “While EVs have grown rapidly over the last few years, our mission is to accelerate the mainstream adoption of EVs by making them more accessible nationwide. Our portfolio already offers a wide choice of body styles, range and price points for our smart, feature rich EVs. We believe that at these accessible prices, the best-selling Nexon.ev and Tiago.ev become an even more compelling proposition to attract a larger pool of customers.”

Recently, MG Motor has also reduced the prices of the two-door MG Comet EV by up to Rs 1.40 lakh. We expect more brands to follow the trend and will announce price reduction of their electric vehicles in India. Tata Motors is currently dominating the passenger electric vehicle market with over 70% share.
