Legoland Florida has revealed a Ferrari 296 GTS made almost completely out of the popular plastic blocks, which took 10 people a total of 1850 hours to build.

Motor1 reports the Lego Ferrari weighs nearly two tons. The Ferrari 296 GTS has a dry weight of 1539kg, making its Lego replica heavier than the real deal.

It’ll go on display at Legoland Florida on March 8, 2024.

According to Motor1, the life-size 296 GTS has working headlights, tail lights and licence plate illumination. It features a steering wheel from a real Ferrari 296 GTS as well as a two-tone beige-and-black interior.

Legoland has yet to release exactly how many bricks were used to create the 296 GTS, but will announce the final figure after running a guessing competition on Instagram.

For context, Legoland’s life-size Ferrari F40 used 358,000 Lego pieces, while a Daytona SP3 used 402,608 pieces.

The real-life 296 GTS is powered by Ferrari’s 3.0-litre turbocharged 120-degree V6 making 488kW at 8000rpm and 740Nm at 6250rpm.

The mid-mounted V6 is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and sandwiched between these two items is a 122kW/315Nm electric motor.

In total the hybrid drivetrain makes a total of 610kW, and thanks to its 7.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack located on the floor behind the seats, the 296 GTS is capable of up to 25km of emissions-free motoring.

Pricing for the 2024 Ferrari 296 GTS starts at $668,164 excluding on-road costs and options.
