Maruti Suzuki dominates the sales list of top 10 passenger vehicles in January 2024, ET Auto

New Delhi: In January 2024, Maruti Suzuki maintained its stronghold on the Top 10 Passenger Vehicles list, securing seven positions. Baleno emerged as the leader, with 20% year-on-year sales growth totaling 19,630 units. Tata Motors‘ Punch claimed the second position, recording an impressive 50% year-on-year increase with 17,978 units.

The third spot was secured by Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, despite a 13% year-on-year decline, with 17,756 units. Wagon R had held the top-selling position in January 2023.

Tata Motors’ Nexon secured the fourth position, selling 17,182 units with a 10% increase from 15,567 units in January 2023.

Maruti Suzuki continued its dominance in the fifth to eighth spots with Dzire, Swift, Brezza, and Ertiga, selling 16,773, 15,370, 15,303, and 14,662 units, respectively. Dzire exhibited a significant 48% year-on-year increase, while Swift witnessed a 7% decline compared to January 2023. Brezza’s sales saw a 7% rise compared to the same month last year, and Ertiga’s sales surged by an impressive 50%.

Mahindra Scorpio secured the penultimate position in January 2024, with 14,293 units, marking a substantial 64% increase from the 8,715 units sold in January 2023.

Maruti Suzuki’s Baleno-based SUV, Fronx, clinched the tenth spot with 13,643 units in January 2024.

Popular SUVs from the Korean manufacturer failed to secure a spot on the January 2024 Top 10 Passenger Vehicles list.
