The second-generation Mini Countryman JCW has been priced for Australia, though it’s no longer the most expensive or torquiest member of the brand’s SUV range.

Priced from $67,990 to $73,990 before on-road costs, the petrol-powered JCW slots in underneath the most expensive members of the electric SE range, which are priced at $75,990 and $77,990 before on-roads.

The JCW – available in Core, Classic and Favoured trims – is due here in the third quarter of 2024.

These sporty models will join the largest Countryman line yet, which also includes the electric E and SE and petrol C and S models – all of which are each available in Core, Classic and Favoured trims.

With 233kW of power and 400Nm of torque from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, the all-wheel drive JCW models pump out 3kW more power than the dual-motor all-wheel drive Countryman SE but have a torque deficit of 94Nm.

However, the electric model is likely heavier than the petrol JCW.
